The delivery System
The Firebird™ stent delivery system development is based on the successfully Mustang stent delivery system.

The Mustang stent delivery system has proven to be a delivery system which can be used in various challenging procedures. With a minimum balloon overhang and a low compliance combined with high pressures, this system is offering safe and precise stent placement.
The stent
The stent design is features a combination of large and small sinuous waves to balance flexibility and radial strength.

The balanced wall coverage of this design offers an ideal platform for controlled delivery of medication to the vessel wall.
The 3 Level Coating:The characteristic of Firebird™ coating structure includes:
Level 1 Base coating:
Polymer only, which adheres to both steel and drug, to ensure that drug is attached to the stent during delivery and dilatation course.

Level 2 Drug layer:
Composition of Drug (rapamycin ) and polymer.

Level 3 Top coating:
A dedicated Polymer, which controls "even" the release rate of rapamycin.

The State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) approved the MicroPort Medical Firebird™ Drug Eluting Stent Delivery System in May 2004; the product was certified by Tianjin Medical Device Inspecting Center.
